Berliner Wissenschafts-Verlag Publisher Description
Interdisciplinarity and practical relevance characterize the scientific publishing program of the Berliner Wissenschafts-Verlag. For over 50 years, the Berliner Wissenschafts-Verlag (BWV) has published titles in the humanities and social sciences in the fields of Law, Economy, Business Economics, Administration, Politics, History and Cultural Studies.

The BWV applies itself to those research areas that require transdisciplinary approaches and that support a creative exchange of research results between the participating fields, such as contemporary judicial history. Close cooperations with scientific institutions, colleges, university departments and associations have developed over the years. Numerous series in the publishing program reflect these cooperations. The vicinity of the universities, senior technical colleges and academies of Berlin and Potsdam allows a comprehensive presentation of Berlin as a centre of science and research with its affinity to Central and Eastern Europe as well as to the Baltic Sea region with its Nordic neighbouring countries.

As a publishing house for the humanities based in Berlin, the BWV also publishes the results of the Brandenburg-Prussian and the Berlin historical research, concentrates on coming to terms with the GDR past and publishes those series of research institutions, commissions and archives that deal with these topics.

Eight journals add to the about 150 new publications per year and facilitate the professional communication among authors, research institutions and readers.
