    It is a glittering winter day, so cold that other animals are curled deep in their dens. But the fresh tracks of two otters are printed on the new-fallen snow. The pair has left the frozen river where they have been swimming after fish under the ice.

    Now they are hunting small mammals and come to the top of a hill. Any hill is irresistible to an otter, and this snowy slope drops down to the river below.
