    Katherine Anne Porter was born May 15, 1890, at Indian Creek, Texas. She was educated in convent schools in Louisiana and has lived in New York, Mexico, Paris, and for short periods elsewhere in the United States and in Europe. Her first published volume was a limited edition of a few stories published under the titleFlowering Judasin 1930. In 1935 this book was expanded and republished.
